I’m Sorry, Please Forgive Me

“Be at peace Dear One. You are beautiful just the way you are. All of your thoughts of imperfection, of not being enough, of being less than, of being fat, of being ugly, of being unworthy to take the big bite out of life’s cake…are just thoughts. They are not true. Come home to yourself. Fully land on this earth and waste no more time being entertained by doubt. There are no limits. You can soar.”

Scattered by Default

We can spend a lifetime gathering and getting lost in our thoughts. This predominantly automated process begins in childhood where knowledge has value and begins to factor into the equation of Self Worth. We are taught by default to believe our perceptions of other people’s perceptions and in doing so, we form opinions that become… Continue reading Scattered by Default

Catch and Release

“My mother, who welcomed strangers into our family, and [sic] taught me to be generous with my love, and that we do not find safety by guarding ourselves against the world, but by opening our doors and sharing what we have.”

Postmortem on Happy

Ask most people what they are looking for out of life and most will answer that they just want to “be happy”. Ask those same people if they have achieved it and you will likely get a reply that resembles “I will be happy when….”. We keep chasing rainbows but never seem to find the elusive pot of Skittles. We give lip service to relaxation and down time as self care, while concurrently our inner soundtracks are playing “you should be doing more of something else”. In those moments, honest attempts at relaxation and have been hijacked by a stress response.

I Promise to Love, Honour and Respect

Inspiration, comes often in the early hours before my eyes open; this morning it arrived accompanied by Tina Turner. Somewhere in the space of awake and asleep, cogs began turning, which eventually engaged my mind. My slumber infused consciousness landed on the repetitive phrase “what’s love got to do with it?”.

Happy New Year!

I don’t know about you, but 2017 is a year that I am pleased to see the back side of. Whatever alignment the planets were in, felt like a cosmological conspiracy to lay me down. And it almost succeeded! My couch became my haven and Netflix – my constant companion. We were inseparable. So often… Continue reading Happy New Year!
